The Fashion World's New Kid on the Block : Alessandro Michele

The debut of Gucci's Resort 2016 collection was a big hit across the entire fashion industry.  Amazingly, this collection is only the second collection designed by the label's new creative director, Alessandro Michele. I loved his first collection seen in February for for Fall 2015, and am so delighted to see that his Resort 2016 collection was an extension aesthetically from the Fall collection. He embraces the campiness of his maximalist, vintage-inspired designs. No matter what critics may say, Michele truly believes in his vision and designs until the very end. His dedication shows clear and certainly pays off.

Of course, as I am seeing EVERYWHERE right now, the 1970's / late 60's were the main inspiration for this collection and for Fall 2015.  He recreates so many already revolutionary designs of the 70's into new revolutionary designs. He really has given Gucci a new aesthetic and attitude. It's a little retro, but it's a refined and delicate type of retro that is a breath of fresh air in fashion right now. Alessandro is compassionate, confident and creative, which is why we can't get enough of Alessandro Michele for Gucci.

Favorite styles in the collection: Berets, PussyBow Blouses and Skirt Suits, Flower Broach pinned in center of collar, metallic leather heeled penny loafers, statement fur coats, statement fur accents in trims and such in pastel colors which I love.love.love (automatically thought of Shrimps, though!)
