Noteworthy Vintage Etsy Boutique is Anything But ‘Vague’

Rarely do independently run Etsy stores make a name for themselves beyond the online shopping world and into the conversations of some of fashion's top trend setters. Yes, Etsy.com is the cliché site to find endless amounts of independent “vintage” stores that realistically offer your average successful thrifting and garage sale finds (no offense).  I had begun to continuously feel underwhelmed with the stores selling on Etsy and the selection of rare products.  About a year ago when I was browsing for some exaggerated 90s platform sneakers I had been on the look out for some time. Of course the search results listed many 90s Steve Madden loafers and platform sandals, but I was determined to find a pair of statement making platform sneakers.  I searched high and low, for what seemed like hours, and then low and behold I came across the most unbelievable selection of platform sneaks.    And that's how I was introduced to Feeling Vague Vintage

I credit my unstoppable determination in finding the perfect sneaker to my random discovery of the online vintage boutique that is FeelingVague Vintage. The shop specializes in Burning Man wear and festival wear, but that's just describing half of the magic you will find. If you're inner child still loves Lisa Frank, there are items for you. If you are looking for authentic wild vintage 90s fashion, you will NOT be disappointed.  I have seen this store grow in social media,  product selection and customers. The store now boasts almost 9,000 followers and over 1,700 sales.  These numbers are pretty impressive consider Feeling Vague is solely owned and run by the exceptionally rad vision-driven vintage merchandise curator,  Babs Laukat.

Preceding graduating from art school in 2010, Babs had already begun slowly curating rare over the top vintage items and in a matter of time she had such a  her last year at school. Her signature vision behind all the facets that together make up Feeling Vague has always followed her initial mission statement:
"The body as a canvas: let you inner light shine through to the outside too! Fashion and clothing represent ideas, it should be exiting, beautiful, dangerous, feminine and fun!"

Established in 2009, the shop's virtual success in these past years continues to get greater and greater. The store operates out of Reno, Nevada, which is located in the hub of thrift stores that are overlooked by most and undervalued by the rest. Babs has a  travels far and wide across the country to find the rare, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces sold on her site (like the coat to the right). Babs believes that her impeccable eye for detail as well as the love of the thrill thrifting brings her is half of the reason why she's kept the store filled of unique, over-the-top vintage items. It's as if Cher Horowitz went to Burning Man and found Kawaii style along the way and this shop is her closet.
