Hannah Weiland
's unique eye for designing statement pieces comes natural to her. She is a true artist and designer whose debut creations become instant "must-haves" overnight.
The bold colors of the autumn/winter 2013 collection became a must-have on any fashionista's it-list.   Her recently launched label Shrimps has gained a cult-following over the signature color block faux fur coats that are showing up on every fashion-forward publication.  The young twenty-three year old London-based designer credits her design inspirations for her recent hit collection from the "witticisms of modern art and a playful engagement with pattern and texture."  She is also a graduate from the London College of Fashion with a background in History of Art and a diploma in textile design.

The first collection by Weiland blends the simplicity of the classic Breton-stripe with bright faux-furs to create coats and clutch bags that are at once nostalgic and surreal yet contemporary. Weiland's designs have gained great notoriety throughout the fashion world thanks to her  eye-popping designs. She and her collection have been featured in many publications, such as British VOGUE and Avenue 32.

As Vogue writes, “With the line taking off and being worn, unmissably, by the likes of Susie Bubble, Julia Sarr-Jamois, and Kate Foley, Weiland is operating out of a building that houses her filmmaker father’s company just off Carnaby Street, the former home of London’s groovy sixties.”

Using carefully sourced fabrics that emphasise colour, Shrimps has created a range of beautifully crafted pieces, perfect for the forward-thinking customer with a taste for the fun in fashion.  The coats exemplify the chic fashion of the modern 60's and Shrimps currently offers a collection of the coats and clutches available at Opening CeremonyAvenue 32, and from Net-A-Porter this March!  And, the best part?  Hannah’s line is animal-friendly!

"A British brand that captures British humour, creativity and innovative fashion."
With a love of color and faux fur this winter, I know I’ll be adding SHRIMPS to my list of must-haves.
