NEWEST OBSESSION: Chloë Sevigny's F/W 2013 Collection for OPENING CEREMONY

"Angora, ankhs, and teen angst!" are the three most justifiable words used by Opening Ceremony to summarize the brilliance of Chloë Sevigny’s fifth collection for the international multifaceted retail company/gallery/showroom Co-Op. Sevigny's collection is a fabulous interpretation of the true spirit and style of those involved in the protest movement. This inspiration is exquisitely exemplified in this highly well received and anticipated Fall/Winter 2013 collection.

Sevigny embraced another source of inspiration when designing the materials, shapes and styles of the collection. She chose to use classic mod-like silhouettes—pea coats, A-line skirts, and babydoll dresses--- as well as authentic 60s fabrics like PVC and wide-wale corduroy. This collection is something that Sevigny should be very proud of. Her designs and concepts flawlessly unify to convey her unique teen viewpoint of the "timeless youthquake iconography" of the 90s mixed with her own signature style motifs that have made her such a radical style icon throughout the years.

After viewing the entire collection, it made me respect Sevigny not just for her impeccable signature style and fashion choices. Even down to the quality of styling choices of each piece and outfit show the versatility and practicality of the collection. I now view Sevigny as a highly creative, attentive, and innovative fashion designer who will go far continuing to follow whatever fashion instincts t she has been following since she first collaborated with Opening Ceremony.
