BrooklynThread, which launched in 2009, is the creation of Brooklyn native Joanna Torres and the line offers items such as one-of-a-kind statement geode rings, woven and chained wristlets, as well as Druzy stone studs in every color. Each rare piece is carefully designed and hand-crafted in Brooklyn, NY.
Her line "epitomizes" her personal style with the unique combination of her obsessions with stones, crystals, vintage finds, fabrics, and interior design trends. The goal of BrooklynThread is "keep the brand small and not mass-produced" and that is why all of her pieces made are either one of a kind or available in very limited quantity. The prices are also very reasonable, especially since they are all hand-made, good quality pieces.
I was first introduced to BrooklynThread last Christmas when I came across their Etsy.com store. I was on the hunt to find the perfect pair of geode studs for my best friend/ roommate. The purchase was more than successful as they were even more gorgeous in person then online and had no cheap luster whatsoever. Plus, my roomie considers them her favorite pair of earrings, and let me tell you the girl has a lot of earrings!
The passion and execution of BrooklynThread is genius because what girl wants something another girl has, let alone be caught wearing the same piece as someone else at the same time? Oh, that's right...every fashionista on earth cringes at that very thought. With the brand's online store updated every week with new and unique items, this cringe-worthy faux-pa is easily avoided and as well as keeping fans constantly updated with new merchandise. The exclusive and limited aspects of the BrooklynThread add to its novelty appeal.
