Favorite Runway Looks: Marc Jacobs' Fall 2017 RTW Collection

marc jacobs: fall 2017 runway roundup by iamjodiemaxx on Polyvore

Marc Jacobs' latest collection and runway show was considerably one of his most toned down productions we've seen in recent years. Gone were the rainbow colored hair-dos, every single Instagirl casted, the intricate sets, and the ankle breaking 13" sky-high platforms showcased & highlighted in his last two seasons.

In place was a profound low maintenance vibe shown through minimal hair & make up; only Kendall Jenner walking; a neutral color palette; holding the show during the day... on the streets of Manhattan; platform loafers that maxed out their heel height at 4.5"; and 80's sportswear inspired pieces. Jacobs' take on Women's Fall 2017 may have been toned down on the surface but the must-have designs he is known for were not lacking from this collection.
Each look displayed Jacobs' notorious aesthetic and love for detail. The collection as a whole was one of the few shows during NYFW FW17 that had substance without the flashy (and expensive) gimmicks. While I personally LOOOOVED the rainbow, sparkle, hippy rave that was his Spring '17 collection & runway show, this laid back side of Jacobs' is refreshing to see as a long time fan of his. Its also made up of a lot more wearable pieces that'll have longevity in your wardrobe.

My only must-not's from the show were the super-oversized hats that worked very well on the runway but the first thought of seeing someone wearing one down the street made me cringe a little. But these hats were the cherry on top of a fabulously styled & designed runway collection.

Congrats to Marc on another amazing collection & show!!
