Disclaimer: This Post was Written by My Inner Star Wars Fangirl

I have just recently finished all six movies for the first time ever, and ever since I finished A New Hope I've been obsessed with all things Star Wars! ESPECIALLY Princess Leia. From her chic, minimalistic fashion get-ups to her bad-ass personality, she is without a doubt a fashion blogger's go-to favorite Star Wars character. But could you blame them (and by "them", I mean me and all other Leia fangirls/boys) ???

After I stumbled upon these GIFs I had to share. These literally sum up why she is and will always be a fashion icon of the 70s and 20th century and perhaps one of the most pivotal fashion icons in cinema.

WHAAAT! UMM?! Like definitely wasn't in for that surprise but my fangirl and fashionista in me loved it! Everything Princess Leia wore was a fashion statement that influenced the deigns of the late 1970s and early 80s. I'm still dying over this amazing gold lamé bikini (she kills it, to put it lightly) and how fabulous she looks in it. Whether it's Leia, Carrie, or both of them, the fashion icon that is Princess Leia is here to stay for a very, very long time...

Carrie Fisher is a veteran bad-ass in her own right (as an actress, writer, and human rights advocate) and I love that her tenacious and witty persona resonates within her portrayal of Leia, which is perfectly depicted in these GIFs taken from Fisher's appearance on Saturday Night Live on November 17, 1978. Fisher's spirit has never seemed to die down and I am so glad she and the rest of the original trilogy will be returning in The Force Awakens!

I cannot WAIT until Dec 17th (or 18th if you aren't attending the midnight screenings) for the premiere! Hoping that my other fashion lovers / Star Wars fans will have a fun night

xoxo
Jodie
