Art Inspires Fashion: The Original Combination of Skulls and Rainbows

'The Horseman of Death' by Salvador Dali (1935)

My favorite Dalí piece of all time. Much of the aesthetics I am drawn to in fashion and art originate from my love for this painting and the many surreal elements within the piece. If I had to choose the most inspirational element of the painting that I see as an indirect influence on fashion trends today is  his use of contrasting dark and whimsical imagery.
