MOST BUZZED ABOUT COLLECTION:

Diane von Furstenberg : Spring 2016 RTW

Once a 70s fashion icon and socialite, now one of fashion's most beloved designers whose style and wisdom is timeless, Diane von Furstenburg showed a beautifully classic and feminine Spring 2016 RTW collection this past Sunday at New York Fashion Week. She named her show Fortvna, after the Roman goddess of luck who "redefines beauty and paints her own destiny" as the program noted. The goddess's mantra resembles von Furstenberg's style and personality to a tee, and so did the clothes that walked down the runway.

This collection is essentially an homage to a young Diane in her fashionable young adulthood the 1970s.  Each model's hair was adorned with large flowers, which mirrored the hairstyle that Diane was known for rocking back in her Studio 54 days

DVF in the 1970s- when it all began

This collection is DVF's walk down memory lane. Not only the hair style was an ode to the past but the details of some of the designs as well. Such as the delicate butterfly embroidery (on Kendall Jenner two looks up on the right, and GiGi Hadid's closing look, last picture down) and the metallic lamĂ© suede(image above on right).

The patchworked floral print pieces along with the use of pastel rainbow tweed in her Spring RTW designs, were DVF's steps into a revamped vision of 70s style. Although, in DVF's case, 70s heritage hasn't aged a day when it comes to her style.

Opening Ceremony designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon never seem to be short on design inspiration when it comes to the collections they create. Their Spring 2016 RTW collection  demonstrated the designer duo's love for innovative design by using architect Frank Lloyd Wright as their core inspiration.
